AtIVI-1I <br />TO: Mayor, City Council and Cler-Administrator <br />FROM: Police Chief <br />DATE: December 17, 1987 <br />RE: PURCHASE OF TWO POLICE VEHICLES <br />This year our Police Department participated with other Ramsey County <br />municipalities and the Ramsey County Sheriff Department in the bid <br />process for the purchase of new police vehicles. <br />Bid number A-6256-4 was awarded to Thane Hawkins Polar Chevrolet <br />on December 16, 1987. The award on this bid is for a 1988 full size <br />Chevrolet Caprice with a 350 CID - V8 engine. With the selection <br />of various options, the purchase price is $11,157.00 per vehicle. <br />This purchase price is more than $500.00 rhea er than last year. <br />As you know, we budget for.one and one half ($20,670) police vehicles <br />per year. This year we are scheduled to purchase two vehicles. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request authorization from the City Council to <br />purchase two (2) 1988 Chevrolets from Thana Hawkins <br />Polar Chevrolet in the amount of $22,314.00. <br />
