Report of <br />Attorney <br />Councilmember Hankner reported that the Council is <br />meeting with the School Board on February 11 to <br />discuss issues of mutual interest, and she would <br />like to add an item to the agenda, to discuss the <br />City and Council. assisting in writing curriculum <br />to help the students understand City government and <br />the governmental process. She stated she feels <br />there is a need there, and there are some excellent <br />programs in place already around the Country. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated the Minnesota <br />City Management Association has developed a <br />curriculum that is being used in several high <br />schools, but that the Mounds view School Board was <br />not interested in using it. <br />Mayor Linke agreed there was a need for such a <br />program. <br />Councilmember Wuori had no report. <br />l-!ouncilmember Quick had no report. <br />Councilmember Blanchari had no report. <br />Mayor Linke reminded everyone of the Pinewood <br />Playground buy -a -board and penny jugs which are <br />in stores throughout the City. He stated it is a <br />very worthwhile cause. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley stated the Mounds View <br />Business Park has a 100,000 square foot building <br />under construction at this time, which Clinch -On <br />Products will be moving into, and TransHealth is <br />negotiating for a 225,000 square foot warehouse <br />building. He added that negotiations are also <br />underway for a restaurant and other businesses, and <br />if TransHealth does go in, the project will be <br />ahead of schedule. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley reported Staff has been <br />working with the Pinewood parents in assisting them <br />in finding sources of funding for the project, as well <br />as encouraging them to follow precautionary procedures <br />n counting money. He added Staff is also trying to <br />`see what equipment will be needed di;ring the construc- <br />tion weekend and they hope to also be able to provide <br />City Staff on that weekend. <br />15.
