Mounds View City Council <br />Regular Meeting <br />------------------------ <br />Attorney Meyers reported that Amoco oil has brought suit <br />against the City to compel the issuance of a conditional <br />use permit for the construction of a gas station at the <br />intersection of Silver Lake Road and Highway 10, which <br />the City had earlier denied. lie reported there had been <br />a hearing on February 5 for a summary judgement, at which <br />time the City argued it's case, and it is now under the <br />advisement of the judge. <br />Attorney Meyers reported Williams Pipeline Company is <br />preparing a motion to prohibit the City from using the <br />National Transportation Safety Board report in their <br />lawsuit against Williams, and they will be going to court <br />to get the issue resolved, and he reviewed the status of <br />the lawsuit. <br />Councilmember Wuori had no report. <br />CouncilmemI:,er Qu_,;k had no report. <br />Councilmember Hankner reported she had received a <br />letter from a resident complaining about pornography <br />being shown on cable tv, and she asked what controls <br />the City has over what is broadcast on the air. <br />Clerk/Administrator Pauley explained Staff is already <br />strking legate a? 'se from the cab'-'s counsel, and <br />a report should oe ready within the next few days. <br />He explained the only way this broadcast, which is <br />on channel 34, can be received in the home is by <br />specifically requesting and paying to view it. He <br />added there is a lock -out box on each television to <br />lock that particular channel out, if the owner wishes <br />to do so, or the cable company can come out and prevent <br />the station from even coming into the home. <br />February.8, 1988 <br />Page Four <br />----------------- <br />11.
