While the commission doesn't have the authority to take action, it serves as a sounding board for the EDA. Examples of <br /> commission projects are economic development marketing/branding initiatives, brainstorming ideas for redevelopment sites, reviewing <br /> financing and economic development policies, hearing from speakers on hearing economic development updates & issues affecting Mounds <br /> View, and setting annual priorities as it relates to assisting the EDA's initiatives. <br /> Planning Commission <br /> The Planning and Zoning Commission provides recommendations to the City Council on Planning Applications, such as subdivisions, conditional <br /> use permits, and ordinance amendments. The Commission, acting as the Board of Adjustments, has authority to approve Variances. <br /> Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission <br /> The Parks, Recreation and Forestry Commission provides recommendations to the City Council for the development and improvement of parks <br /> within the City.
