Mounds View City Council April 14, 2025 <br />Regular Meeting Page 11 <br />1 Mayor Lindstrom reported Project Ardan was promoting Earth Day week from April 20 through <br />2 April 28 and was encouraging residents to make a positive impact on the greenspace in the <br />3 community. <br />4 <br />5 Mayor Lindstrom explained he received a note from Carrie at Just Deeds and noted the residents <br />6 of this community has dispatched 196 racial covenants to date. <br />7 <br />8 Mayor Lindstrom stated he received a letter from a resident who is unhappy with the condition of <br />9 their neighbors yard on Spring Lake Road. He passed this letter along to City staff. <br />10 <br />11 Mayor Lindstrom commented on Wednesday, he would be speaking to graduates at the Stillwater <br />12 Prison who received their GED to share his own personal story. <br />13 <br />14 B. Reports of Staff. <br />15 <br />16 Finance Director Bauman stated the 2024 audit would be presented to the City Council at the first <br />17 meeting in May. <br />18 <br />19 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated the Explore More summer program <br />20 was up 30% this year. He noted the City would be partnering with Arden Hills to provide a Rec <br />21 on the Go program as well this summer which would bring recreational programming to the City's <br />22 parks. He indicated he was working with the District 621 to have Meals on Wheels run out of the <br />23 Community Center. <br />24 <br />25 1. Public Works — Tree Sale <br />26 <br />27 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson stated there would be an arbor day planting <br />28 event at Silver View Park on Friday, April 25 at 12:00 p.m. He commented further on the tree sale <br />29 the Public Works staff was proposing to host. <br />30 <br />31 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To allow Public Works staff to host a tree sale with tree <br />32 prices at the same cost that was charged to the City. <br />33 <br />34 Ayes — 4 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />35 <br />36 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson reported he met with Ramsey County <br />37 recycling to discuss the fence at the compost site. <br />38 <br />39 Public Works/Parks and Recreation Director Peterson provided the Council with an update on the <br />40 Ardan and Silver View ponds projects. <br />41 <br />42 Police Chief Zender thanked the City Council and community for their outpouring of support for <br />43 K9 Niko and Investigator Erickson. <br />44 <br />45 Police Chief Zender commented on the eyeball for life event that would be held on Saturday, April <br />46 19. <br />
