Mounds View Special City Council May 5, 2025 <br />Regular Meeting Page 2 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Mayor Lindstrom read a proclamation in full for the record declaring May to be Building Safety 2 <br />Month in the City of Mounds View. 3 <br /> 4 <br />7. PUBLIC COMMENT 5 <br /> 6 <br />Mayor Lindstrom encouraged the public to speak with kindness and respect when addressing the 7 <br />City Council during Public Comment. 8 <br /> 9 <br />Vince Meyer, 8380 Spring Lake Road, stated it has been brought to the Council’s attention that 10 <br />buses and trucks were driving onto the sidewalk/curb at Ardan, 84th and 85th. He believed this was 11 <br />a concern and asked that the width of these roadways be addressed. 12 <br /> 13 <br />Sharon Kirscher, 8406 Red Oak Drive, reported it was Public Employee Awareness week. She 14 <br />commented on how important the City’s employees were to the community and she thanked them 15 <br />all for their efforts on behalf of the Mounds View residents. 16 <br /> 17 <br />City Administrator Zikmund thanked Ms. Kirscher for working with residents in the community 18 <br />to have their racial covenants dispatched. 19 <br /> 20 <br />Council Member Gunn reported it was also Mounds View School District Staff Appreciation 21 <br />week. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Mr. Meyer stated he was working with the school district to construct and sell chicken coops. He 24 <br />explained he has sold two chicken coops to date. He encouraged residents pursuing chicken-25 <br />keeping licenses to contact him for a chicken coop at a reasonable price. 26 <br /> 27 <br />8. COUNCIL BUSINESS 28 <br />A. PUBLIC HEARING: Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 1041, 29 <br />Vacating a Highway Easement on the Property at 3033 Woodale Drive ROLL 30 <br />CALL VOTE. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Phil Carlson, Stantec, requested the Council adopt an Ordinance that would vacate a highway 33 <br />easement for the property at 3033 Woodale Drive. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mayor Lindstrom opened the public hearing at 6:11 p.m. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Hearing no public input, Mayor Lindstrom closed the public hearing at 6:11 p.m. 38 <br /> 39 <br />MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Clark. To Waive the Second Reading and Adopt Ordinance 40 <br />1041, Vacating a Highway Easement on the Property at 3033 Woodale Drive and direct staff to 41 <br />publish an Ordinance summary. 42 <br /> 43 <br />ROLL CALL: Clark/Gunn/Meehlhause/Smith/Lindstrom. 44 <br /> 45 <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. 46
