MOUNDSLVIEw <br />City of Mounds View Staff R <br />Item No: 05 <br />Meeting Date: June 02, 2025 <br />Type of Business: Council Discussion <br />City Administrator Review: <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Brian Beeman, Assistant City Administrator <br />Item Title/Subject: Strategic Plan Update 2026-2028 <br />Introduction: The next three-year Strategic Planning process has started and is nearing <br />completion. Individual Strategic Planning sessions were held with each City Council Member and <br />as an entire Council to consider proposed changes from the current 2023-2025 Strategic Plan. A <br />meeting with the full City Council is recommended to come to a consensus on the new 2026-2028 <br />Strategic Plan. <br />Discussion: <br />The City Council Met March 17, 2025 in a Council Retreat to discuss the 2026-28 Strategic Plan <br />update. Specifically, the Council completed the Strategies section of "Where We Are Going". At <br />the May 12 City Council Worksession, the Council finalized the "How We Get There" section <br />pertaining to more specific Goals and budget amounts. The next step is to review the Final <br />Strategic Plan draft, so that a resolution can be prepared for an upcoming regular City Council <br />meeting. <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />A progressive city that is welcoming and desirable destination to all ages and cultures, who <br />seek progress through partnership, and a place where residents can live, work and play safely <br />and show pride in the community. <br />Financial Impact: <br />None <br />Recommendation: <br />Review the attached draft "Final Strategic Plan 2026-2028" discuss and come to a consensus <br />on the updates so that a resolution approving the 2026-2028 Strategic Plan can be considered <br />in an upcoming City Council regular meeting. <br />1) The goal for this meeting is to finalize the 2026-2028 Strategic Plan draft. <br />2) A resolution will be prepared for consideration at a future City Council meeting. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />AV&44V1__ <br />Brian Beeman <br />City Administrator <br />Attachment(s): <br />1.
