The Mounds View Vision <br />A Thriving Desirable Community <br /> <br /> <br />Item No: 5.F. <br />Meeting Date: June 9, 2025 <br />Type of Business: Consent Agenda <br />Administrator Review ______ <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Staff Report <br />To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br />From: Rayla Sue Ewald, Human Resource Director <br />Item Title/Subject: Resolution 10108, Approving Revisions to the Recreation <br />Coordinator Job Description to Recreation Coordinator/Supervisor <br /> Introduction: <br />Recreation Coordinator Maddie Margo inquired about a change to her job title, adding the <br />word Supervisor, as the position provides supervision to seasonal staff throughout the <br />year. <br /> Discussion: <br />Staff examined the current Recreation Coordinator job description and discovered the <br />10th bullet under Essential Work Functions includes the following wording: Train, direct, <br />schedule, supervise, and evaluate staff: including ice rink attendants, seasonal referees, <br />seasonal summer program staff, and youth development staff. <br /> <br />Staff met with the HR Committee and agreed the title should be changed to Recreation <br />Coordinator/Supervisor. The title change will not impact the pay plan, and the position will <br />remain at a Grade 6. <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: <br />This action addresses the City Council goal of Employee Recruitment and Retention. <br />The importance of a job title is significant to employee. <br /> Financial Impact: <br />None. <br /> Recommendation: <br />Staff recommends approval of Resolution 10108, Approving Revisions to the Recreation <br />Coordinator Job Description to Recreation Coordinator/Supervisor. <br /> _________________________ <br />Rayla Sue Ewald <br />Human Resource Director <br /> <br />Attachments: <br />1) Resolution 10108 <br />2) Revised Job Description
