Mounds View �.� tQ ` ° <br />City Council@. •' r <br />Regular Meeting " .j J 9 gr" ED <br />March 14, 1988 <br />----------- <br />Page Twelve <br />------ <br />Park and Rec Director Saarion and Commissioner McCarty <br />filled the Council in on what they know about the issue. <br />Councilmember Quick stated the City is faced with <br />possibly losing a good deal of space at Edgewood, so <br />it would be beneficial for Staff to look into it. <br />Councilmember Blanchard had no report. <br />Councilmember- <br />Blanchard <br />Co•:ncilrember Hankner reported she had recently <br />Councilmember <br />received a call from a resident who -, .s interested in <br />Hankner <br />establishing an environmental quality review task force, <br />and she stated that if there is a group of residents <br />who are willing to devote their time, the City should <br />utilize them. She added they could be a great <br />benefit to the City. <br />Councilmember Wuori has no report. <br />Councilmember''> <br />Wuori <br />Mayor Linke updated the Council on the progress of the <br />Mayor Linke <br />fund raising for the Pinewood playground, reporting <br />that they have raised $30,000 of their $50,000 goal so <br />far. <br />Mayor Linke stated he had received one application <br />Fnr rhn nnuninrt nn the Civil Service Commission. <br />which had been advertised in the New Brighton Bulletin. <br />Motion/Second: Linke/Blanchard to appoint Gordon <br />Fedor to the Police Civil Service Commission, to fill <br />the vacancy through December 31, 1990. <br />The.•e was no vote on the motion, as a tabling motion <br />occurred later during discussion. <br />Councilmember Quick stated he feels a position of <br />this importance should be listed as an item on the <br />agenda, and he stated he has had two people express <br />interest in the position. He added that the Council <br />has not interviewed Mr. Fedor, as is normally done. <br />Councilmember Hankner added that she does not like <br />to bring things up of this nature as a motion either, <br />without them appearing on the agenda. <br />Motion/Second: Hankner/Quick to table action on this <br />until March 28, 1988.
