MEMO TO: MAYOR AND COUNCILMEHBERS
FROM: MARY SAARION, DIRECTOR 0
PARRS, RECREATION AND FORESTRY
DATE: MARCH 23, 1969
RE: REQUEST FOR PURCHASE OF PICNIC TABLES
I wish to request approval for the purchase of four galvanized steel picnic
tables. These tables have a rubber coating on a galvanized steel table and
benches. This picnic table in anchored in a concrete bed. This particular
style requires little or no maintenance. Two of these same kirds of taL_es
were '-stalled at Woodcrest Park last summer.
Two tables will be installed at Random Park, under the willow shade tree area.
Another table will be placed at Lambert Park and the fourth at the horseshoe
play area across the street from Oakwood Park (actually in the tailend of
Greenfield Park). This will p-ovide a picnic area for the apartment
rasidents. The huge trees at thie lccation will lend a good shady area for,;
picnics.
The cost is $369.00 each or a total of $1,476.00 plus freight. This is a
budgeted :tem under Parks Capital Equipment 100-4360-703000.
RECOMMENDATION: To approve the purchase of four galvanized steel picnic
tables at a cost of $369.00 each or a total of $1,476.00 which is budgeted
under Parks Capital Equipment 100-4360-70300.
MS/SL
