OT <br />DATE: JUNE 16, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: SECTION 8 HOUSING INSPECTIONS <br />The City of Mounds View has a contract with the Metropolitan <br />Council to conduct inspections of Section 8 housing units since <br />1977. At this time, the Council has requested that the City <br />enter into a new agreement which reflects their current practices <br />with resDAct to this program. The City will receive a c>ipend of <br />$25.00 for each inspection perforated. <br />In discussing this matter with Building Official Jim Tobias, it <br />was concluded that the $25.00 per inspection would more than <br />adequately cover the City's staff time involved in performing <br />these insoections and also assist the City in maintianing <br />controls ,n some of the rental housing units in the City of <br />Mounds View which have caused us housing code enforcement <br />difficulties in the past. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Staff rerommands Council approve the <br />proposed new contract between the Metropolitan Council and <br />the City of Mounds .iew relating to Section 8 housing <br />assistance payment program contract for inspection services. <br />DFP/mjs <br />i <br />
