W <br />MEMO TO: MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL <br />® FROM: CLERK -ADMINISTRATOR <br />DATE: JUNE 24, 1988 <br />SUBJECT: 1988 CLEAN-UP DAY PROFIT/LOSS STATEMENT <br />Attached please find the Profit/Less Statement for the 1988 <br />Clean -Up Day. You will note that the City, even though <br />contributing $3,300 to to the cost of Clean -Up Day, still <br />experienced a net loss in the amount of $2,538.54. This <br />resulted directly from the increased cost for disposal of <br />such items as tires and appliances and the fact that 18 <br />30 yard containers, a new record, were taken out on Clean -Up <br />Day. <br />Staff would like to discuss with you the three options we <br />feel are available for avoiding a loss in this program in <br />1989, namely increasing the City subsidy, increasing <br />disposal Fees, or a combination of the two.
