Item No. 6A <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Andy Thomas — Parks & Recreation Superintendent <br />Date: May 22"d, 2025 <br />RE: Parks & Recreation Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Parks & Recreation Department. <br />Building & Operations <br />• Staffing — Front Desk <br />• Painting front entry of Community Center <br />Programs <br />• Explore More <br />o The program begins June gtn <br />o Enrollment is 125% of last year's final enrollment. <br />• Rec on the Go <br />o 153 kids registered between Arden Hills and Mounds View. <br />• Senior Trips <br />o Added additional trips this year. Unfortunately, having to cancel some due to <br />low enrollment. <br />• Senior programs at the park <br />o With youth programs some Senior Programs will be held at parks this <br />summer. <br />• Youth Leagues <br />o Practices started Monday. Enrollment is down 15% from 2024. <br />Rentals <br />• AP Testing <br />0 3000 tests were conducted by 1500 students over the last three weeks. <br />o Network worked well and didn't have any issues. <br />• Meals on Wheels <br />o Partnership with Meals on Wheel starting in June. They will operate out of the <br />Community Center (licensed kitchen and prep kitchen). <br />Event Center <br />o June is our busiest month of the year with graduation parties and other <br />events. <br />Park/Field Rentals <br />• Cricket <br />o Getting more and more inquiries for cricket rentals and tournaments at Silver View <br />Park. <br />I I P a g e <br />
