RESOLUTION NO. 10121 <br />CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />APPROVING THE HIRE OF CLINT SCHUMANN TO PUBLIC WORKS UTILITIES <br />MAINTENANCE WORKER POSITION <br />WHEREAS, upon direction from the Mounds View City Council and in accordance with the Public <br />Works Collective Bargaining Unit Labor Agreement, the Public Works Utilities Maintenance Worker position <br />was advertised internally for five (5) days, then posted externally for qualified candidates to apply; and, <br />WHEREAS, Clint Schumann's work ethic, attitude, job skills, and 10+ years of municipal public <br />works experience were determined to most closely match the requirements of the job description; and, <br />WHEREAS, the hiring procedures consisted of an oral interview, pre -employment physical and <br />drug testing, reference and background checks, and a hiring assessment conducted by an outside vendor, <br />and; <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Schumann will be a member of the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit, and <br />subject to the established job classification system as set forth in the Public Works Labor Agreement; and, <br />WHEREAS, Mr. Schumann will begin employment at Grade 5, Step 9 of the pay scale based on <br />the Public Works Collective Bargaining Unit Labor Agreement, which is $39.28 per hour: <br />Grade 5 <br />4% <br />3.75% <br />3.75% <br />3.75% <br />3.5% <br />3.25% <br />3% <br />2.75% <br />Step 1 <br />tep 2 <br />tep 3 <br />Step 4 <br />Step 5 <br />Step 6 <br />Step 7 <br />Step 8 <br />Ste 9 <br />$29.90 <br />$31.10 <br />$32.26 <br />$33.47 <br />$34.73 <br />$35.95 <br />$37.11 <br />$38.23 <br />$39.28 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council does hereby approve: <br />• The hire of Clint Schumann to the Utilities Maintenance Worker Position within the Public Works <br />Department at Grade 5, Step 9 of the pay plan (currently $39.28/hour). <br />• Eligible for Cost -of -Living Adjustments at the beginning of each year. <br />• The City acknowledges Mr. Schumann's prior municipal public works experience and hires him as <br />a lateral employee, beginning his vacation time at 16 days per year. On Mr. Schumann's one year <br />anniversary, vacation will increase to 17 vacation days; on the second -year anniversary, vacation <br />will increase to 18 days; on third year anniversary, vacation will increase to 19 days; on fourth year <br />anniversary, vacation will increase to 20 days; on 9-year anniversary, vacation will advance to 25- <br />days (maximum vacation accrual). <br />• Mr. Schumann will receive 50 hours vacation on the books when he begins employment at the City. <br />• Mr. Schumann will observe an 18-month probationary period with employment to begin on July 30, <br />2025, <br />Adopt%rhis 14h day of July, 2025. <br />Za �r , Mayor <br />ATTEST: <br />Nyle ZfmOnd ty Administrator <br />(seal) <br />
