Item No: 8F <br /> �T �,�T Meeting Date: July 14, 2025 <br /> MOUNDS VIL.1�V Type of Business: CB <br /> Administrator Review: <br /> City or Mounds View Staff Report <br /> Elf— <br /> To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br /> Item Title/Subject: Resolution 10131, Approving the Proposal from Garland Company LLC for <br /> Roof Repairs at the Well #4 <br /> Background/Discussion: <br /> The Public Works Department has many responsibilities and one is to efficiently operate the <br /> water distribution system. <br /> In 2023 the City Council approved having Inspec perform inspections on all City building roofs to <br /> include repair and replacement recommendations for the Roof Management Program. <br /> Well #4 roof was identified as needing replacement. Staff working with Garland Company LLC, <br /> reviewed the report and requested that they secure roof repair estimates. <br /> The scope of the repair work will include the following: <br /> • Remove the existing roofing material down to the concrete deck. <br /> • Inspect the existing vapor retard, prime and patch as needed. <br /> • Install wood blocking as needed to accommodate new installation height. <br /> • Install new tapered and flat Polyisocyan u rate insulation to create positive drainage. <br /> • Install 3-plies of asphalt felt and 1 -ply of modified cap sheet in hot asphalt. <br /> • Fabricate and install new scuppers. <br /> • Install and asphalt flood coat and gravel. <br /> • Fabricate and install new downspouts, coping, fascia, and counterflashing. <br /> • Clean up and haul away debris. <br /> Garland Company received three estimates for the repair work: <br /> Peterson Bros. Roofing & Const, Inc: $50,400.00 <br /> Palmer West: $48,500.00 <br /> Diverse Construction Services: $36,000.00 <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. Ensure Clean <br /> Water and Maintenance. <br /> Financial Impact: No financial Impact to the 2025 Budget for it includes $50,000.00 for <br /> Construction. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Staff recommends the City Council approves the proposal from Garland Company LLC. for the <br /> roof repairs to Well House #4 for a total of $36,000.00.
