Item No: 8G <br /> Meeting Date: July 14, 2025 <br /> MOU-NDS,ST <br /> VIEW Type of Business: CB <br /> Administrator Review: <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From: Pete Szurek, Public Works Superintendent <br /> Item Title/Subject: Resolution 10133, Authorizing the Purchase of (1) 2026 F350 <br /> Service Pickup Truck and (1) 2026 F250 Service Pickup Truck <br /> Background/Discussion: <br /> As part of the Public Works Department's maintenance program, service trucks are <br /> purchased for the departments to perform maintenance and inspections required <br /> throughout the City. <br /> The Street and Storm Water Departments currently are utilizing Unit #448, which is a <br /> 2012 Ford 350 4x4 pickup truck and Unit #646, a 2011 Ford 250 4x4 pickup truck. Both <br /> #646 and #448 will be placed on auction after the new trucks are in service. <br /> Discussion: <br /> Purchasing vehicles from the State of Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing Venture <br /> Program (CPV) has been significantly reduced for it has become difficult for Staff to meet <br /> the required time window of one month to purchase a vehicle through this program. <br /> Staff received two quotes for these purchases: new <br /> 2026 F350 Pickup 2026 F250 Pickup <br /> Saxon Fleet Services $49,720.94 $48,461.95 <br /> Midway Ford $50,254.81 $48,898.57 <br /> Both pickups will require installations of liftgates and Strait Blade Plows. Staff obtained a <br /> cost from the CPV program (Contract # 264964) at a cost of $16,364.50 each from <br /> Crysteel of Fridley, MN; total cost $32,729.00. <br /> In addition, both pickups will also require seat covers, a back rack, strobes, and City <br /> graphics for a cost of $1,607.00 each; total cost $3,214.00. <br /> The total cost for the outfitted 2026 F350 pickup is $67,692.44 and is included in the 2025 <br /> budget, Vehicle and Equipment Pavement Management Fund, 460-4470-7040 of <br /> $75,000. <br /> The total cost for the outfitted 2026 F250 pickup is $65,727.45 and is included in the 2025 <br /> Vehicle Storm Water Fund, 745-4415-7030 of $69,000.00. <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure. <br /> Financial Impact: Both purchases are respectfully included in the 2025 budget, Vehicle <br /> and Equipment Pavement Management Fund, account 460-4470-7040 and Vehicle <br /> Storm Water Fund, 745-4415-7030. <br /> The Mounds View Visioi. <br /> A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
