Item No: 8H <br /> Meeting Date: July 14, 2025 <br /> MOUTN_DS VIEW Type of Business: CB <br /> Administrator Review: <br /> City of Mounds View Staff Report <br /> To: Honorable Mayor and City Council <br /> From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks & Recreation <br /> Item Title/Subject: Resolution 10132, Approving Various Sanitary Sewer <br /> Manhole Repairs <br /> Background / Discussion: <br /> During regular cleaning and inspection of the sanitary sewer system, Staff discovered <br /> several cracked manholes that are allowing infiltration/ground water to enter the system. <br /> Staff contacted two contractors to provide proposals for the repairs on the manholes. The <br /> repairs include power washing, removing old mortar, sealing all joints and lining of the <br /> manhole structures. <br /> Staff received 2 proposals for the repairs: <br /> • Thul Specialty Contracting Inc.- (6 manholes) $66,800.00 <br /> • Innovating High Performance Coatings (6 manholes) $33,010.00 <br /> The funding for these repairs is budgeted in the Sanitary Sewer fund, which includes <br /> $30,000.00 for the sewer manhole lining. <br /> Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. <br /> Financial Impact: No Impact to the 2025 Budget as repairs are budgeted in the Sanitary <br /> Sewer Fund, 730-4823-7050, for these necessary repairs. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> Staff recommends approval and authorization for Innovative High Performance Coatings <br /> of Hinkley, MN for $33,010.00 to repair the sanitary sewer manholes as proposed in their <br /> quote dated June 3, 2025, to be funded from 730-4823-7050. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks and Recreation <br /> The Mounds View Vision <br /> A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
