Item No. 8.1.
MlNU-NDS VIEW Meeting Date July 14, 2025
1L1' Type of Business: Council Business
Administrator Review:
City of Mounds View Staff Report
To: Honorable Mayor and City Council
From: Gayle Bauman, Finance Director
Item Title/Subject: Resolution 10112 Accepting the 2025 Twin Cities Gateway Grant
Introduction
Since 2009, the City of Mounds View has been a member of the Twin Cities Gateway. One of
the Twin Cities Gateway's programs is the "Member City Marketing Grant." Beginning in 2011,
the program was structured so that each member city receives an annual grant based on the
percentage of lodging taxes collected from the prior year.
Discussion
As part of accepting the grant funds, the City Council is required to enter into an agreement. Upon
accepting the grant, the City must disperse the funds to community festival(s), and/or event(s)the
City Council wants to support. The amount received in 2024 was$10,620. Approximately$3,700
(35%) of this was applied toward Community Center marketing with the balance (65%) going
toward the Festival in the Park.
Recommendation
Staff recommends approving Resolution 10112, accepting the Twin Cities Gateway 2025 Member
City Marketing Grant, and applying the grant funds towards the marketing and promotion of the
2025 Festival in the Park and the Mounds View Community Center. Council will need to decide
how the funds should be split.
Respectfully Submitted,
Gayle Bauman
The Mounds View Vision
A Thriving Desirable Community
