Minn. Stat. § <br /> 13.02, subd. 13. <br /> * "Individual" is defined by Minnesota Statutes Section 13.02, subd. 8. "Individual" means a <br /> natural person(a living human being). It does not mean any type of entity created by law, such as <br /> a corporation. <br /> ** Private and confidential data on decedents become public data 10 years after the death of the <br /> data subject and 30 years after the creation of the data. <br /> 3.1 People Entitled to Access. Any person has the right to inspect or view public data <br /> or to have an explanation of the meaning of the data. The person does not need to state his <br /> or her name or give the reason for the request, unless a statute specifically authorizes the <br /> City to request such information. The Responsible Authority may ask a person to provide <br /> identifying or clarifying information for the sole purpose of facilitating access to the data. <br /> Examples of when identifying information may be requested include, but are not limited <br /> to, obtaining a mailing address when the person has requested that copies be mailed or <br /> requesting identification when copies have been paid for by check. Additionally, any <br /> person has the right to obtain a copy of public data except in the case of copyrighted <br /> materials in the possession of the City for which the City does not have express written <br /> permission to reproduce. <br /> 3.1A Copyrighted Documents. Copyrighted public documents may be shown <br /> to anyone but shall not be reproduced or photocopied without express written <br /> 2 <br />
