Edgewood Middle School and Pinewood Elementary School SRO Quarter 2 Report April 2025 – June 2025 Officer Boscardin worked at Edgewood Middle School and Pinewood Elementary during this quarter. Officer Boscardin continued to build the relationship between the schools and MVPD this quarter. Officer Boscardin and school staff continued to work in partnership throughout this quarter to best serve the students and members of the community. Officer Boscardin started his shifts conducting school bus stop arm enforcement. Officer Boscardin focused his school bus stop arm patrols in area’s he knew to have a high volume of school bus stop arm violations to include Silver Lake Road, County Road I, and Long Lake Road. Officer Boscardin would then turn school speed zone signs off. Officer Boscardin would return to Pinewood Elementary to check-in with students and staff, and would then conduct an interior patrol of the building. Officer Boscardin would then head to Edgewood Middle School to check-in with students and staff. After checking in with staff, Officer Boscardin would begin working on investigations and assisting staff with day-to-day support. Officer Boscardin would attend school lunches at Edgewood as time allowed. After lunches were complete, Officer Boscardin would complete an interior patrol. Officer Boscardin then met with students and work on reports/investigations. At the end of Edgewood’s school day, Officer Boscardin would conduct an extra patrol during student dismissal before leaving to conduct further school bus stop arm enforcement. Throughout this quarter, Officer Boscardin issued 12 citations for school bus stop arm violations. After completing school bus stop arm enforcement, Officer Boscardin would return to MVPD to complete reports and check-in with patrol Officers and Investigators. Throughout this quarter, Officer Boscardin attended Pinewood’s Family Library Nights, and end of year concerts for both schools. Officer Boscardin also assisted with community outreach events utilizing MVPD’s new hot dog trailer (police dogz) alongside Chief Zender. Officer Boscardin visited Pinewood Elementary 1st grade students to answer questions they had prepared for him. Officer Boscardin attended the Pinewood Elementary end of year PTA carnival. Throughout this quarter, Officer Boscardin assisted with multiple student elopements and ensured their safe return to school or ensured they returned home to their parent or guardian. Officer Boscardin along with other MVPD Officers, and neighboring agency’s took part in a TZD event hosted by MVPD to focus on school bus stop arm violations, distracted driving, and pedestrian crosswalk violations. Officer Boscardin also completed multiple investigations in regard to cyberbullying. Officer Boscardin also completed investigations of suspicious activity and an investigation for a weapons complaint. This was Officer Boscardin’s last year serving as School Resource Officer and he looks forward to continuing to build rapport with students and community members as he returns to patrol.
