<br />After taking the report and documenting the crime scene, officers responded to the <br />1600 block of Hall Street in Shoreview, where it was believed the suspect may have <br />fled. Sgt. Schultes deployed K9 Grizz on lead and took a perimeter position at the back <br />door to prevent the suspect from evading officers on foot. Officers attempted contact at <br />the front door with no response. Officers cleared from the address. <br />The suspect in this case was arrested days later by the Ramsey County Apprehension <br />Team and charged while in custody. <br /> <br />Vehicle Pursuit <br /> <br />On 4/22/25 at 0320 hours, Officer Aase attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding in the <br />area of 35W and County Road I. The vehicle fled from Officer Aase and a pursuit was <br />initiated. The suspect vehicle fled from police for approximately three miles before <br />crashing in the area of 85th Avenue and Jenkins Court in Blaine. Multiple occupants <br />fled on foot from the crashed vehicle. Officer Aase set up a perimeter and coordinated <br />with multiple agencies to attempt a track. Officer Aase deployed his partner K9 Ace and <br />began a track. <br /> <br /> Shortly into the track, a drone was overhead and observed a male running east from <br />the location. He was taken into custody by perimeter squads. Officer Aase continued <br />the track with K9 Ace through multiple back yards and wooded areas. Officer Aase <br />noticed a forced open side door to a garage in the 8500 block of Hastings Street NE. <br />Officer Aase deployed K9 Ace into the garage with negative results. Shortly after, K9 <br />Ace showed interest in human odor in 8500 block of Hastings Street. K9 Ace gave a <br />sharp head snap and put his nose to the ground and began to track east from Hastings <br />Street. K9 Ace was pulling hard toward a residence on the 8500 block of Hastings <br />Street NE. K9 Ace led Officer Aase to the front deck of the residence and showed <br />excited behavior. K9 Ace then gave multiple loud barks as an alert that he was on <br />human odor. Officers located three juveniles hiding underneath the deck. All three <br />juveniles were taken into custody without incident. These juveniles were the three <br />outstanding occupants from the vehicle and charges were filed. <br /> <br />Vehicle Pursuit <br /> <br />On 4/22/25 at 2337 hours, Officer Kammerer had a vehicle flee from him on a traffic <br />stop. Shortly after, the vehicle crashed and a short foot pursuit ensued before the <br />suspect was taken into custody. Officer Aase arrived on scene and deployed his K9 <br />partner Ace for an article search, making sure the suspect did not discard any items of <br />evidential value during the foot pursuit. Officer Aase deployed K9 Ace on lead and <br />extensively searched the path of the suspect and surrounding areas. K9 Ace did not <br />locate any items of evidential value. <br /> <br />Traffic Stop/Narcotics Sniff <br /> <br />On 4/28/25 at 0034 hours, Officer Aase conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the <br />intersection of Mounds View Boulevard and Long Lake Road. Officer Aase observed <br />signs of criminal activity from the driver’s behavior. Officer Aase deployed his K9 <br />partner Ace for a narcotics sniff of the vehicle. K9 Ace did not alert to the presence of <br />narcotics inside the vehicle. The driver was released with a verbal warning. <br /> <br /> <br />
