Mounds View City Council August 25, 2025 <br />Regular Meeting Page 3 <br />1 <br />2 7. PUBLIC COMMENT <br />3 <br />4 Mayor Lindstrom encouraged the public to speak with kindness and respect when addressing the <br />5 City Council during Public Comment. <br />6 <br />7 Murwo Mohamed, 2657 Mounds View Boulevard, requested the City Council consider adding <br />8 new equipment at the Community Center. <br />9 <br />10 Mayor Lindstrom reported the equipment was on order and the City was waiting to receive the <br />11 new exercise equipment. <br />12 <br />13 Vince Meyer, 8380 Spring Lake Road, thanked City Administrator Zikmund and Councilmember <br />14 Clark for visiting Spring Lake Road. He indicated he cannot turn into his driveway without <br />15 impeding traffic. He noted he would be working with an engineer to try and address this concern. <br />16 <br />17 Sharon Kirscher, 8406 Red Oak Drive, thanked the Council for the award stating that it was very <br />18 unexpected. She thanked the Festival in the Park Committee for their tremendous efforts on this <br />19 year's event. <br />20 <br />21 8. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br />22 A. PUBLIC HEARING: Second Reading and Adoption of Ordinance 1047, <br />23 Approving a Cable Franchise Extension Agreement with Comcast of <br />24 Minnesota, Inc. ROLL CALL VOTE. <br />25 <br />26 City Administrator Zikmund requested the Council adopt an ordinance approving a cable franchise <br />27 extension agreement with Comcast of Minnesota. He explained staff has received no feedback or <br />28 input from the public on this item. <br />29 <br />30 Mayor Lindstrom opened the public hearing at 6:46 p.m. <br />31 <br />32 Hearing no public input, Mayor Lindstrom closed the public hearing at 6:46 p.m. <br />33 <br />34 MOTION/SECOND: Meehlhause/Gunn. To Waive the Second Reading and Adopt Ordinance <br />35 1047, Approving a Cable Franchise Extension Agreement with Comcast of Minnesota, Inc. <br />36 <br />37 Council Member Meehlhause was thankful the negotiations went smoother this time compared to <br />38 the previous franchise agreement renewal. <br />39 <br />4o ROLL CALL: Clark/Gunn/Meehlhause/Smith/Lindstrom. <br />41 <br />42 Ayes — 4 Nays — 0 Motion carried. <br />43 <br />44 9.
