Item No. 613 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Pete Szurek — Public Works Superintendent <br />Date: September 25th, 2025 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />(2 fulltime Park Workers 2 seasonal workers) worked on the following items since <br />September 1st, 2025. <br />Parks Maintenance <br />Trash litter pickup Mondays and Fridays at all park locations <br />• Ballfield game preparation and leveling down to just City Hall field <br />• Field marking painting for: 3 soccer fields and city hall ballfield <br />® Mowing all the parks, litter pick up before mowing <br />Tribute Park grounds preparation <br />• Blue Cross Blue Sheild grounds preparation <br />• Reminder- Silverview building closed for the season October 1It (pavilion use only) <br />City Hall Park 2025 Construction Schedule <br />- BCBS Finess Court — Installation compete some dirt work and planting remain <br />-Tribute Park concrete completed, some electrical components still need to be installed. Finish <br />grading and grass planting still need to occur before Veterans Day November 11th <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items last month: <br />• Several resident phone consults and site visits <br />• Contractor meets and calls <br />• Volunteer plant growth removals from planters <br />• Finished 2025 full city diseased tree survey, marking public and private trees- mailing letters. <br />Species and number of marked trees in 2025: 44 Oak Trees marked, 64 Ash Trees Marked, 1 Elm <br />tree marked citywide. Numbers citywide for 2025 are down for Ash and Elm, Oak numbers are <br />similar to 2024 numbers. <br />• Some tree removals and stump removals <br />1IPage <br />
