Mounds View City Council January 12, 2026 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br />Council Member Smith stated she attended a Ramsey County League of Local Government tour <br />of the recycling center in Roseville last Friday. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith indicated she would be attending an airport commission meeting on <br />Thursday, January 15. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn explained Friday was Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. She thanked <br />the Mounds View Police Department for serving the community well. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn reported she attended the Nine Cities mayor and manager meeting for <br />Mayor Lindstrom today and noted this group discussed levy limits and ICE actions in the <br />community. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark stated she has continued to work on food distributions in the community. <br />She explained distribution events are held weekly on Sundays at the Community Center from 3:00 <br />p.m. to 4:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark indicated she got to teach a group of third grade Girls Scouts about <br />government. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark reported she was now serving as the Mounds View Police Foundation <br />representative. She explained this group would be meeting next on Tuesday, January 13 at 5:30 <br />p.m. at City Hall. She noted the Daddy Daughter Dance would be held on Saturday, January 31. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark stated the Festival in the Park Committee would meet next on Tuesday, <br />January 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Works Facility. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark indicated the Parks, Rec and Forestry Commission would meet next on <br />Thursday, January 22 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom explained he would be attending a meeting on January 13 to discuss ICE actions <br />in local communities. He thanked the police department for working to keep people safe. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom reported he attended the food distribution event on Sunday. He noted the food <br />distributor had a request for 16,000 boxes for children that were afraid to go to school. He stated <br />he was sorry about how people were being treated by federal agents at this time. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom indicated City Hall would be closed on Monday, January 19 for Martin Luther <br />King, Jr. Day. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom stated he would be attending a board of pardons meeting on Tuesday, January <br />20 at the Senate Building. <br /> <br />Mayor Lindstrom commented on Thursday, January 22 he would be celebrating eight years of <br />sobriety. <br />
