Mounds View City Council January 12, 2026 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br /> 1 <br />Council Member Smith indicated she would be attending an airport commission meeting on 2 <br />Thursday, January 15. 3 <br /> 4 <br />Council Member Gunn explained Friday was Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. She thanked 5 <br />the Mounds View Police Department for serving the community well. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Council Member Gunn reported she attended the Nine Cities mayor and manager meeting for 8 <br />Mayor Lindstrom today and noted this group discussed levy limits and ICE actions in the 9 <br />community. 10 <br /> 11 <br />Council Member Clark stated she has continued to work on food distributions in the community. 12 <br />She explained distribution events are held weekly on Sundays at the Community Center from 3:00 13 <br />p.m. to 4:00 p.m. 14 <br /> 15 <br />Council Member Clark indicated she got to teach a group of third grade Girls Scouts about 16 <br />government. 17 <br /> 18 <br />Council Member Clark reported she was now serving as the Mounds View Police Foundation 19 <br />representative. She explained this group would be meeting next on Tuesday, January 13 at 5:30 20 <br />p.m. at City Hall. She noted the Daddy Daughter Dance would be held on Saturday, January 31. 21 <br /> 22 <br />Council Member Clark stated the Festival in the Park Committee would meet next on Tuesday, 23 <br />January 20 at 6:30 p.m. at the Public Works Facility. 24 <br /> 25 <br />Council Member Clark indicated the Parks, Rec and Forestry Commission would meet next on 26 <br />Thursday, January 22 at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. 27 <br /> 28 <br />Mayor Lindstrom explained he would be attending a meeting on January 13 to discuss ICE actions 29 <br />in local communities. He thanked the police department for working to keep people safe. 30 <br /> 31 <br />Mayor Lindstrom reported he attended the food distribution event on Sunday. He noted the food 32 <br />distributor had a request for 16,000 boxes for children that were afraid to go to school. He stated 33 <br />he was sorry about how people were being treated by federal agents at this time. 34 <br /> 35 <br />Mayor Lindstrom indicated City Hall would be closed on Monday, January 19 for Martin Luther 36 <br />King, Jr. Day. 37 <br /> 38 <br />Mayor Lindstrom stated he would be attending a board of pardons meeting on Tuesday, January 39 <br />20 at the Senate Building. 40 <br /> 41 <br />Mayor Lindstrom commented on Thursday, January 22 he would be celebrating eight years of 42 <br />sobriety. 43 <br /> 44 <br />Mayor Lindstrom reported there would be an event at the Fridley Community Center on Saturday, 45 <br />January 17 that will connect people to community. 46
