Ordinance No. <br />Page 3 <br /> <br /> <br />DOCSOPEN-MU210-54-1034876.v1-6/25/25 <br /> <br />The operator of a motorized golf cart may cross any street or highway intersecting a <br />residential roadway. <br /> <br />72.020 APPLICATION OF TRAFFIC LAWS. <br /> <br />Every person operating a motorized golf cart under permit on residential roadways has <br />all the rights and duties applicable to the driver of any other vehicle under the provisions <br />of Chapter 169 of the Minnesota Statutes, as amended, except when those provisions <br />cannot reasonably be applied to motorized golf carts, and except as otherwise specifically <br />provided in M.S. § 169.045, subd. 7, as amended. <br /> <br />72.021 SUSPENSION OR REVOCATION OF PERMITS. <br /> <br />The city council may suspend or revoke a permit granted hereunder upon a finding that <br />the holder thereof has violated any of the provisions of this Section or Chapter 169 of <br />Minnesota Statutes, as amended, or if there is evidence that the permittee cannot safely <br />operate the motorized golf cart on residential roadways. <br /> <br />72.022. PENALTY. <br /> <br />Any person violating any of the provisions of this Subsection shall be guilty of a petty <br />misdemeanor. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 3.07 of the City Charter, City staff shall have the <br />following summary printed in the official City newspaper in lieu of the complete ordinance: <br /> <br />On XX, 2025, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. XX by amending the <br />Mounds View City Code, Title VII: Traffic Code, Chapter 72, by adding Sections <br />72.010- 72.022 concerning operation of motorized golf carts by individuals with <br />physical handicaps. <br /> <br />A printed copy of the ordinance is available for inspection during regular business <br />hours at Mounds View City Hall and is available on line at the City’s web site <br />located at www.moundsviewmn.org. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force 30 days from and after its <br />passage and publication, in accordance with Section 3.09 of the City Charter. <br /> <br />Introduction and First Reading by the Mounds View City Council on XXXXX. <br /> <br />Second Reading and Adoption by the Mounds View City Council on XXXXX. <br /> <br />Publication Date: XXXXXX.
