MEETING IS CALLED TO ORDER <br /> 13 <br /> 14 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br /> 15 <br /> 16 3. ROLL CALL: Clark, Gunn, Meehlhause and Smith <br /> 17 <br /> 18 NOT PRESENT: Lindstrom. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 4. SPECIAL ORDER OF BUSINESS <br /> 21 <br /> 22 A. Introduction and First Reading of Ordinance 1056, Regarding Civil <br /> 23 Immigration Enforcement/Clarifying Requirements for Law Enforcement <br /> 24 Agencies and Officers within the City. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 Acting Mayor Gunn reported Mayor Lindstrom could not attend this meeting because he was not <br /> 27 feeling well. She explained she would like to move to table this item to a future City Council <br /> 28 meeting. <br /> 29 <br /> 30 MOTION/SECOND: Gunn/Meehlhause. To table action on Ordinance 1056 to a future City <br /> 31 Council meeting. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 Ayes—4 Nays 0 Motion carried. <br /> 34 <br /> 35 Acting Mayor Gunn opened the meeting for public comments. <br /> 36 <br /> 37 Sharon Kirscher, 8406 Red Oak Drive, stated she appreciated the desire for people to want to do <br /> 38 something, she did not believe the City Council should move forward with this action because the <br /> 39 Ordinance would not be enforceable. She understood Mounds View police officers would be able <br /> 40 to ask for masks to be removed and for badges to be present,but she did not anticipate there would <br /> 41 be compliance. She was of the opinion there would be frustration with Mounds View Police <br /> 42 Officers for not carrying out this Ordinance if it were passed. She discussed the many ways <br /> 43 Mounds View residents were helping one another and asked that this be the focus at this time. <br /> 44 <br /> 45 <br />
