Roofing for Roof Replacement at the Groveland Park Building <br /> <br />Background/Discussion: <br />The Public Works Department has many responsibilities, and one is to monitor, <br />schedule and follow Roof Management Program reconditions developed by Inspec <br />Engineering. <br /> <br />In 2023 the City Council approved having Inspec perform inspections on all City building <br />roofs to include repair and replacement recommendations for the Roof Management <br />Program. <br /> <br />Groveland Park building roof was identified as needing replacement in 2026. Staff <br />working with Garland Company LLC, reviewed the report and requested that they <br />secure roof repair estimates. Garland is the general contractor and provides the <br />warranty for this project. <br /> <br />The scope of the repair work will include the following: <br /> <br />• Remove and discard all the existing roofing <br />• Install new drip edge metal <br />• Remove existing soffit panels and install new <br />• Install new underlayment R-Mer Seal <br />• Install new pipe boots and vent covers as needed <br />• Install Timberline HDZ Shingles by GAF <br />• Insure a watertight seal <br />• Clean up and haul away debris. Clean up as needed <br /> <br />Garland Company received three estimates for the repair work: <br />1. Peterson Bros. Roofing $28,250.00 <br />2. Berwald Roofing Company, Inc. $34,625.00 <br />3. BL Dalsin Generation of Roofing $72,663.00 <br /> <br />Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. <br />Ensure a Safe Maintained Park Building. <br />
