Edgewood Middle School and Pinewood Elementary School SRO Annual Report Officer Boscardin served as the School Resource Officer for Edgewood Middle School and Pinewood Elementary during the 2024-2025 school Year. Officer Boscardin assisted with numerous student elopements ensuring their safe return to school or home. Officer Boscardin attended numerous community outreach events during the 2024-2025 School year and attended numerous events at both schools. Officer Boscardin successfully investigated numerous cyberbullying incidents and completed investigations for weapons complaints. This was Officer Boscardin’s last year serving as the School Resource Officer. In June of 2025 at the end of the school year, Officer Boscardin introduced Officer Garcia to school staff and students as the next School Resource Officer. Officer Boscardin’s last day as School Resource Officer was June 6th, 2025. Officer Boscardin is excited to return to patrol and is excited for Officer Garcia to continue building relationships with the Mounds View Schools and community. After Officer Boscardin completed his final school year for 2024-2025, Officer Garcia took over the role as School Resource Officer (SRO) for the 2025-2026 school year. Since the start of the school year as the new SRO, Officer Garcia continues to build new relationships and connections with students and staff. She continues to partner with Edgewood Middle and Pinewood Elementary Schools to ensure a safe, and supportive environment. Officer Garcia begins the day with Edgewood Middle School’s student arrivals by monitoring school zone speed limits and pedestrian crosswalk laws. Throughout the day, she conducts interior patrols, meets with staff to review any student conflicts, provides additional supervision during lunches and passing times, and responds to calls for service that may occur during the school day. While Officer Garcia is not at Edgewood Middle School, her time is spent at Pinewood Elementary School. Officer Garcia assists with school zone traffic safety and often conducts foot patrols during arrival and dismissal times. While on foot patrol, Officer Garcia engages with students walking to and from school working towards building positive relationships. Officer Garcia has participated in Heroes and Helpers and has been a presence during Edgewood’s after school events. She plans to attend more after school events at both Edgewood and Pinewood as they occur during the rest of the school year, to further engage with the community.
