The records in this registry are classified as general nonpublic data “security <br />information” under Minnesota Statutes § 13.37. <br /> <br />Ordinance 1057 establishes fees for vacant building registration (VBR) of residential <br />dwellings, commercial buildings, and prolonged vacancy enforcement (PVE) for each. The <br />City Fee Schedule will be updated with Ordinance 1060 to reflect the policy direction <br />received from the Council at the March 2nd work session. <br /> <br />2026-2028 Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: The establishment of Vacant Building <br />Registration Ordinance 1057 is consistent with the strategy/goal “Maintain effective code <br />enforcement promoting responsible landlords and homeowners.” and “Encourage <br />landowners to maintain and take care of properties to ensure they are following codes and <br />rules.” <br /> <br />Financial Impact: There would be little to no financial impact if the City implements this <br />Ordinance and uses an outside third party to handle the administrative work. <br /> <br />Recommendation: Staff is recommending approval of the first reading and introduction at <br />this public hearing for Ordinance 1057. <br /> <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> Jeremiah Anderson <br />Housing/Code Enforcement Inspector <br /> <br />Attachments: <br /> <br />1.
