Mounds View City Council March 9, 2026 <br />Regular Meeting Page 5 <br /> <br />Council Member Meehlhause reviewed his meeting schedule for the coming week noting he would 1 <br />be attending a Zoom call with the president of the Twin Cities Gateway Bureau and the City of 2 <br />Fridley finance director. He explained on Tuesday, he would be attending a board of directors 3 <br />meeting with the convention bureau. He commented on Wednesday he would be attending an 4 <br />NYFS finance meeting and on Thursday he would be attending a Chamber of Commerce business 5 <br />council meeting. 6 <br /> 7 <br />Council Member Gunn stated she would be attending the Mounds View Business Council meeting 8 <br />on Thursday. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Council Member Gunn reported on Saturday, April 18 the Lions would be working with public 11 <br />works on a cleanup event and in May the Lions would be hosting the annual garage sale from May 12 <br />11 through May 13 at Hillview Park. 13 <br /> 14 <br />Council Member Gunn explained she attended the Regional Council of Mayors meeting with 15 <br />Mayor Lindstrom last week. 16 <br /> 17 <br />Mayor Lindstrom thanked Project Ardan and the Lions for putting on the yard and garden expo. 18 <br /> 19 <br />Mayor Lindstrom reported that the Regional Council of Mayors discussed the proposed housing 20 <br />bill that was being considered by the State, noting this bill was centered around developers and 21 <br />maximum profit and not on how residents will be impacted. 22 <br /> 23 <br />Mayor Lindstrom commented on the items that were discussed at the Nine Cities Mayors meeting, 24 <br />which included how communities were impacted by Operation Metro Surge. 25 <br /> 26 <br />Mayor Lindstrom explained he met with the City’s cannabis partners last week regarding the retail 27 <br />shop that would be located within Mounds View Square. He stated this shop was slated to be a 28 <br />regional destination for cannabis sales. 29 <br /> 30 <br />Mayor Lindstrom commented on the clemency hearing he attended last Friday. 31 <br /> 32 <br />Council Member Smith let the public know that she received a letter in the mail and wanted the 33 <br />resident who sent it to know she had read this letter. 34 <br /> 35 <br /> B. Reports of Staff. 36 <br /> 37 <br />Finance Director Bauman explained Ramsey County has implemented a property tax payment 38 <br />extension for certain properties. She indicated this meant the City’s revenue would be coming in 39 <br />later too. 40 <br /> 41 <br />City Administrator Zikmund stated the Goal Committee within the Park Committee finished up 42 <br />their work last week and Public Works Director Peterson was summarizing their 43 <br />recommendations. He commented on the joint meeting that will be held with the City Council and 44 <br />Park Committee in April. He reported staff was exploring several different funding opportunities 45 <br />to assist with renovating the City’s parks. 46
