Two candidates were nominated in 2026 and two were nominated and considered during <br />the 2024 Citizen of the Year selection process. Candidates not selected are held for a second <br />selection process the following year. <br />Discussion: Names of the nominated candidates are kept confidential. Each candidate is labeled <br />as Candidate and identified with a letter of A, B, C or D. During Council discussion please do not <br />use candidate names. Instead, refer to the candidates as Candidate A, B, C, or D. After Council <br />agrees on the top candidate, identify the candidate and the letter, and staff will construct the Citizen <br />of the Year award based on the nomination content, for Council presentation. <br />Does Council plan to present the Citizen of the Year award during the State of the City Address? If <br />so, please determine the date for the State of the City Address. If there is another time/date preferred <br />for the presentation, please let staff know during the work session. <br />Financial Impact: This is a budgeted item. <br />Recommendation: Staff requests the following: <br />1. Council selects one of the four Citizen of the Year nominated candidates to receive the 2025 <br />award <br />2.
