MEMO TO: Parks and Recreation Commission
FROM: Staff
• DATE: January 20, 1978
RE: Lakeside Park Commission
Enclosed you will find a copy of a report outlining the staff position
on the Lakeside Park Issue. This issue will be discussed at the regular
City Council agenda session scheduled for January 30. The City Councils
recommendation will then be discussed at the Lakeside Park Commission
meeting on February 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the new Spring Lake Park City Hall.
This matter is being brought to your attention for three reasons:
1. If the attached recommendations were to be adopted, a Parks and
Recreation Commissioner would need to be appointed as liaison
between the two commissions.
2. The possibility of becoming the "governing agent" would entail a
great deal of policy making and decisions in the near future.
3. To determine if there is commission interest in attending the
February 9 meeting to voice the Mounds View Park Commissions
stance on the issue.
• For additional information, contact Judy Rowley, the present City Council
liaison commission representative or Jerry Linke, Mounds View resident and
past Lakeside Park Commission chairman.
•
