MOUNDS VIEW PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> MEETING MINUTES <br /> OF <br /> MARCH 20, 1997 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> 5:30 P.M. <br /> CALL TO ORDER: Chair Burmeister called the meeting to order. <br /> ROLL CALL: Commissioners present included Chair <br /> Burmeister, Commissioners Long, Silvis, <br /> Dentz, Stevenson, & Gunn. Council liaison <br /> Stigney and Director Saarion were also <br /> present. <br /> APPROVAL OF <br /> MINUTES: Commissioner Silvis made a motion <br /> seconded by Commissioner Dentz to <br /> • approve the minutes of January 23, 1997. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> FOR PARK DED. FEES: The Commission was asked by the Department of <br /> Community Development for a recommendation on the <br /> Park Dedication Fees for the DW Jones Development <br /> proposal. After a brief review of the project from <br /> Commissioner Stevenson, and after discussion a motion <br /> was made by Commissioner Silvis and seconded by <br /> Commissioner Dentz to request the full 10% of Park <br /> Dedication Fees for the value of the land in addition to a <br /> trailway along Silver Lake Road. Motion passed <br /> unanimously. <br /> In addition, the Commission brought up the subject of the O'Neil <br /> property and asked about possible Park Dedication Fees for that <br /> project. It was noted that Park Dedication Fees are eligible only <br /> when properties are subdivided. 'The Commission discussed their <br /> desire,for a trailway connection with the Silver View Park trail <br /> connection on Long Lake Road. In addition, the Commission <br /> recommends pathways along Highway 10 as well as aesthetic <br /> landscaping and safety lighting for any development along Highway <br /> 10 in an effort to beautify the cooridor and be more"park-like" in <br />
