interoffice
• MEMORANDUM
to: Parks and Recretion Commission
from: Mary Saarion, Director
subject: Athletic Facility Study
date: May 14, 1997
The Mounds View School District and the Parks and Recreation Department of the Cities of
Mounds View, New Brighton, Arden Hills and Shoreview along with various youth athletic
associations are working on the completion of an athletic facilities inventory and need analysis and
demand forecast. The project is hoped to be concluded by July so that information can be used in
the budget planning process. The goal is to have a plan and program by which athletic facility
demands can be met now and in the future.
I have compiled an inventory of athletic facilities in the City of Mounds View and have identified
the uses or restrictions in use for each facility. This information along with other cities will be
compiled and analyzed with the needs and demands of various groups and organizations. A
report will be prepared which will indicate future needs. This will give each city information that
can be used in future planning.
•
