Cally- <br /> Ann Jacobson has applied to raise and keep chickens on her property. <br /> Discussion: The applicant, Cally-Ann Jacobson, has applied to raise and keep chickens <br /> and ducks on her property located at 7338 Silver Lake Road. The City Code allows up to <br /> twelve chickens and/or ducks at one time and requires that backyard areas within which <br /> they roam be fenced. Ms. Jacobson has indicated that she plans to raise and keep a <br /> combination of 12 chickens/ducks currently. She has also indicated that the backyard is <br /> enclosed with a 4-1/2-foot-high chain link fence. The coop will meet the City Code <br /> requirement of a minimum of 20 feet from all property lines. <br /> In accordance with Chapter 90.0005, initial applications shall be considered by the City <br /> Council after holding a public hearing. Approval of renewal applications are done <br /> administratively unless the City has received substantial complaints or related violations <br /> have been documented during the previous year. <br /> As required by City Code, staff has published a public hearing notice in the Wednesday, <br /> April 14, 2026, edition of the Pioneer Press, the City's official newspaper. In addition, as <br /> required, notices were mailed to residents within 350 feet of the subject property. Mailing <br /> List attached. <br /> It appears Ms. Jacobson's request meets all requirements of Chapter 90.005. <br /> Ms. Jacobson has indicated that she will be present at the City Council meeting/public <br /> hearing to answer any questions you may have. <br /> This is an annual license and will expire on December 31, 2026. <br /> The Mounds View Vision <br /> A Thriving Desirable Community <br />
