Item No: 8E � Meeting Date: April 27, 2026 MOUNDS Vt-EW- Type of Business: CB Administrator Review: City of Mounds View Staff Report To: Honorable Mayor and City Council From: Don Peterson, Director of Public Works/Parks & Recreation Item Title/Subject: Resolution 10243, Authorization for Restoration regarding the 2024 Lois Drive Storm Sewer Repair Background / Discussion: On May 28, 2024, City Council approved Resolution 9926, authorizing repairs to the storm sewer system located on Lois Drive. The work was completed in 2025 except for the restoration for the project. (Staff has included examples of restoration required in this Staff Report.) Staff obtained 2 quotes: • Dave Perkins Contracting Inc. $18,183.00 • Olsons Excavating and Sewer Service $18,040.60 Staff are also recommending a 7% contingency of $1,262.85 for any unforeseen issues that may arise during the restoration project. The funding for this repair is budgeted in the Storm Sewer fund, 745-4415-5150, which includes $25,000.00 for Storm Sewer Repairs. Strategic Plan Strategy/Goal: Maintain and Plan for Infrastructure Improvements. Financial Impact: No Impact to the 2026 Budget as repairs is included in the Storm Sewer Fund, of $25,000.00 budgeted, account 745-4415-5150. Recommendation: Staff recommend approval of the attached resolution, authorizing Olsons Excavating and Sewer Services to perform restoration services to the storm sewer pipe on Lois Drive at a cost of $18,040.60. Staff further recommend a 7% contingency of $1 ,262.85 for any unforeseen issues that may arise during this project, for a total cost not to exceed $19,303.45 to be funded from the Storm Sewer fund, account 745-4415-7050.
