Aase (K9 Brandi) <br /> Assist Other Agency - New Brighton PD — Vehicle Pursuit — Interstate <br /> 694/Matterhorn Drive - K9 Track <br /> On 1/8/26 at 0108 hours, Officer Aase assisted New Brighton Police Department with a <br /> K9 track after a vehicle pursuit that started at Interstate 694 and Matterhorn Drive in <br /> Fridley. The suspect vehicle was located near the intersection of Polk PI and 50th Ave <br /> NE in Columbia Heights. The suspect was said to be a black male wearing a blue <br /> baseball cap and fled on foot from the vehicle. Officer Aase and K9 Brandi attempted a <br /> track. K9 Brandi tracked south from the stop location near 1020 50th Ave NE. K9 Brandi <br /> followed the track east in front of 1055 Lincoln Terrace all the way to 1135 Lincoln <br /> Terrace. Officer Aase and K9 Brandi reacquired the track on the south side of Lincoln <br /> Terrace in front of 1110 Lincoln Terrace. The track then went back north to 1135 Lincoln <br /> Terrace and headed east. K9 Brandi continued to track east up to 1175 Lincoln Terrace <br /> and gave indication the suspect was close by air scenting and showing excited <br /> behavior. K9 Brandi located the suspect hiding on top of a shed, and the suspect was <br /> taken into custody. A firearm was also later located where the suspect was hiding. <br /> Assist Other Agency - New Brighton Department of Public Safety - Building <br /> Search - 1100 Silver Lake Road <br /> On 1/14/26 at 0141 hours, Officer Aase was requested by the New Brighton Department <br /> of Public Safety for a building search at 1100 Silver Lake Road (New Brighton Ford). It <br /> was learned two large commercial garage doors were open and there was a suspicious <br /> vehicle near the parking lot with the driver's door open. Prior to arrival, a perimeter was <br /> established. Officer Aase and K9 Brandi, along with a cover team performed an <br /> extensive search of the building with negative results. Officers then performed a <br /> secondary search of the building with negative results. <br /> K9 Sniff <br /> Officer Aase observed a driver driving the wrong way down the roadway. <br /> Officer Aase stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver. The driver was leaving a <br /> known narcotics location. The driver stated she was visiting her friends that live there <br /> and they've lived there for two months. The driver said she stopped by. The driver didn't <br /> realize they were in the wrong lane. Officer Aase also noticed through a records check <br /> that the driver had a history of drug use. Officer Aase was denied consent to search the <br /> vehicle from the driver. Officer Aase deployed K9 Brandi for a vehicle sniff. K9 Brandi <br /> did not alert to the presence of narcotics and the driver was released. <br />
