Mounds View City Council May 11, 2026 <br />Regular Meeting Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />MOTION/SECOND: Clark/Meehlhause. To Waive the First Reading and Introduce the Revised <br />Ordinance 1064, Amending the Zoning Ordinance Regarding Height of Attached Accessory <br />Structures. <br /> <br /> Ayes – 5 Nays – 0 Motion carried. <br /> <br />9. REPORTS <br />A. Reports of Mayor and Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith stated last week she attended an international boating and safety <br />conference. She noted she also attended the Ramsey County League of Local Government meeting <br />where the group discussed the elections process. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith commented on Saturday she witnessed veterans, including her dad, receive <br />a quilt of valor at the Blaine Veterans Memorial. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith reported she toured the cannabis shop in Mounds View earlier today where <br />she learned a great deal about the safety measures that were in place. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith explained the Festival in the Park Committee would meet next on Tuesday, <br />May 19. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith indicated she would be participating in Ramsey County water rescue drills <br />with fire departments next week. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith stated she felt really bad the City did not recognize the announcement of <br />April 25 through May 3 as being National Firefighter Week. She thanked the SBM Fire <br />Department for serving the City of Mounds View well. <br /> <br />Council Member Smith reported this week was National Police Week and she thanked Police Chief <br />Zender and all the police officers for serving the community with professionalism and dedication. <br />She explained the State’s Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony would be held on Friday, May 15 <br />in St. Paul. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark stated the Mounds View Police Foundation would be meeting on Tuesday, <br />May 12 at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Council Member Clark commented she participated in the fourth cleanup event at the abatement <br />property. She thanked all the volunteers who helped at this event. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn stated she attended the Northeast Youth and Family Services fundraiser <br />luncheon last week. <br /> <br />Council Member Gunn indicated she and Council Member Meehlhause attended the Irondale High <br />School scholarship night on behalf of the Mound View Lions.
