Item No. 613 <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Pete Szurek — Public Works Superintendent <br />Date: February 26th, 2026 <br />RE: Public Works Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Public Works Department. <br />(2.5 fulltime Park Workers) worked on the following items since <br />February 1st, 2026. <br />Parks Maintenance <br />• Ice Rink Flooding each morning as weather allows M- F Closed February 17t'', 2026 <br />• Snow and ice treatment and removals citywide <br />• Building and grounds: painting, cabinet installations and shop building repairs. <br />• Silverview disc golf dead fall removal <br />• Silverview disc golf buckthorn removal <br />• Ordering Spring 2026 supplies <br />• Splash Pad repairs, plumbing issues <br />• Annual license recertification & trainings for staff <br />Forestry <br />Staff worked on the following items last month: <br />• Several resident phone consults and site visits <br />• Contractor meets and calls <br />• Arborist and ISA registration and test preparation. <br />• Tree sale 39 trees sold out of 85 trees as of 2-23-2026 <br />• Tree sale sign installations <br />• Tree pruning ongoing at all parks <br />• Hazard removals at Silverview disk golf course <br />The following is the List of Parks and projects / maintenance activities ongoing or planned this year. <br />Current updates are in black text, and updates from the previous two -month period are in grey. <br />Ardan Park <br />• Winberg Companies project closeout. <br />City Hall Campus <br />• Snow removal and trash and litter checks <br />• Splash pad checks <br />11Page <br />
