Item No. 6A <br />MQU=NDtSViEw <br />PARKS & RECREATION <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Parks & Recreation & Forestry Commissioners <br />From: Andy Thomas — Parks & Recreation Superintendent <br />Date: May 281h, 2026 <br />RE: Parks & Recreation Staff Report <br />The following is a synopsis of recent activities and events of the Parks & Recreation Department. <br />Building & Operations <br />Explore More Base Camp/west side of building — Renovated basketball hoop, flag pole, <br />concrete slab, stage. <br />• Skylights replaced this week. <br />Programs <br />• Explore More <br />o The program begins June 8tn <br />o Leadership team has started and prepping for camp. <br />o Enrollment is 108% of last year's final enrollment. <br />0 11 registered for Leader in Training Program and 6 registered for Leader in <br />Training Camp. <br />• Rec on the Go <br />o Tyler Williams — Rec on the Go Coordinator <br />0 21 kids registered at Mounds View Parks. <br />• Senior Trips <br />o MN Twins June 3rd — 15 registered from Mounds View <br />o Stillwater River Cruise July 10th — 12 registered from Mounds View <br />• Adult Fitness <br />o Zumba on the fitness court <br />• Youth Leagues <br />o Practices started on Tuesday. 139 youth registered. <br />Rentals <br />• AP Testing <br />o 2330 tests were conducted over the last three weeks. <br />Community Events <br />• Parks and Recreation Month Ice Cream Social — July 11tn <br />o Cumming Park - 1:00pm — 2:00pm <br />o City Hall Park - 2:30pm — 3:30pm <br />o Able Park - 4:00pm — 5:00pm <br />• Penny Carnival —August 21st <br />11Page <br />
