CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
COMMISSION MEMBER AS THE EDC-ELECTED CHAIRPERSON FOR 2004
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission acts as an advisory
commission to the Economic Development Authority on matters that relate to fostering a
positive economic climate, encouraging economic development, and enhancing the tax
base of the City; and,
WHEREAS, the Economic Development Commission is composed of three
business representatives and four residents; and,
WHEREAS, Chapter 408.07, subdivision 1 of the Mounds View Code, entitled
Orqanization, Meetinqs provides that Commission shall appoint a chairperson from among its
voting members, and that this appointment shall be subject to Authority approval and shall
consist of a one year term; and,
WHEREAS, the term for Commissioner Torri Johnson (resident representative), was
renewed by the Mounds View EDA on January 12, 2004; and,
WHEREAS, Torri Johnson has expressed a strong interest in serving as the Economic
Development Commission Chairperson; and,
WHEREAS, through a unanimous vote of the Economic Development Commission
members on February 20, 2004, Torri Johnson was elected Chair of the EDC.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Economic Development Authority of
the City of Mounds View hereby approves the appointment of Torri Johnson as Chairperson to
the Economic Development Commission for a one-year term expiring December 31,2004.
