HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 7133 (formerly 8004)RESOLUTION NO. 7133 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR THE OAKWOOD AND HILLVIEW PARK PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT REPLACEMENT PROJECTS WHEREAS, on March 24, 2007, the City Council approved Resolution 7053 holding the public improvement hearing, ordering the project, approving plans and specifications, authorizing the advertisement for bids, and setting a bid date for the Oakwood Park Improvement Project- Phase 1; and WHEREAS, Phase 2 of the project involves the installation of a playground in the southwest corner of the soccer field area; and WHEREAS, as part of the City's Park Improvement Plan, Hillview Park was subject to be replaced in 2007; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Commission has reviewed the playground equipment at both Oakwood and Hillview Parks and recommends their replacement; and WHEREAS, because of the City playground equipment specifications the City has historically purchased "Game Time" brand playground equipment, which has proven to be durable, easy to erect, safe for all users, and an overall value for the City; and WHEREAS, both the Oakwood and Hillview playground structures can be purchased under state contract from MinnesotaNVisconsin Playground thus foregoing the bidding process; and WHEREAS, the Oakwood playground equipment can be purchased at a total cost of $22,484.27 and Hillview for $38,000.24; this includes tax, freight, wood fiberfill, and playground area border; and WHEREAS, all the costs for these two purchases will be financed via funds derived from the City's Park Dedication Fund (Account: 251-4470-7050). NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota, as follows: Said improvements are hereby ordered and shall hereafter by known and referred to as the Oakwood Park and Hillview Park Playground Equipment Replacement Projects. Said ordering of the improvements shall be valid for a period of eighteen (18) months from the date of adoption of this resolution. • 2. That contract playground equipment for the Oakwood Park and Hillview Park Playground Equipment Replacement Projects is awarded to Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground. 3. That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Minnesota/Wisconsin Playground for the purchase of said playground equipment. 4. Funds for this project are to be derived from the City's Park Dedication Fund (Account: 251-4470-7050). Adopted this 11 ~h day of June, 2007. ~vlr~/~%~...
