HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 7439RESOLUTION 7439 CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA AUTHORIZING PREPARATION OF THE REQUIRED MUNICIPAL SEPARATE STORM SEWER SYSTEM MAPPING COMPONENTS WHEREAS, Mounds View holds a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) as administered by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA); and WHEREAS, Part V.G.3.a of the MS4 permit requires the City to develop a storm sewer system map; and WHEREAS, the current City storm sewer system map does not include all of the necessary components identified in the MS4 permit; and WHEREAS, Bonestroo is the consulting engineer for the City on the Local Surface Water Management Plan (LSWMP); and WHEREAS, the drainage area map being prepared for the LSWMP would provide the framework for the MS4 mapping requirements as well, allowing a combined map to be prepared in a cost effective manner; and WHEREAS, a combined LSWMP and MS4 map provides additional benefit to the City in terms of updating and management of the information; and WHEREAS, Mounds View requested Bonestroo to provide a written proposal for the required MS4 mapping services; and WHEREAS, Bonestroo has provided a written proposal for the work in the form of a Letter Agreement dated April 9, 2009; and WHEREAS, the aspects of the proposal including scope, schedule, and cost are acceptable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Mounds View, Ramsey County, Minnesota as follows: 1. Authorization is hereby given to proceed with the MS4 mapping to meet the requirements of the MS4 permit. Resolution 7439 Page 2 2. The services of Bonestroo shall be retained for the purpose of performing said mapping. 3. The scope of work is hereby approved in the form of the letter agreement prepared by Bonestroo dated April 9, 2009. 4. Funds for the work are to be derived from the Storm Water Fund (245-4415-3030).
