CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
RAMSEY COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION GIVING APPROVAL TO THE 2008 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN UPDATE
AND AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF THE PLAN UPDATE
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is requiring the City of Mounds View to update its
Comprehensive Plan; and,
WHEREAS, the City formed a steering committee (task force) in 2007 to help with
the plan update that met several times in 2007 and 2008 to review and comment on the
current Comprehensive Plan and to offer suggestions for changes to the Plan; and,
WHEREAS, on November 19, 2008, the Mounds View Planning Commission held a
public hearing to review and consider the entire 2008 Comprehensive Plan update; and,
WHEREAS, after the review and discussion of the proposed plan update, the Planning
Commission adopted Resolution 897-08, supporting Council approval of the 2008
Comprehensive Plan update; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council- reviewed the Comprehensive Plan update during its
work session on December 1, 2008; and,
WHEREAS, City staff had a public hearing notice published in the official City
newspaper on December 24, 2008, and on January 1, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council held a public hearing about the Comprehensive Plan
update on Monday, January 12, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council approved resolution 7393 on January 12, 2009 that gave
preliminary approval to the 2008 Comprehensive Plan updated and authorized City staff to
distribute the draft plan to nearby and affected government agencies; and,
WHEREAS, City staff has reviewed and considered the comments from other
government agencies and has incorporated many of these into the current draft of the plan;
and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed and considered the Planning Commission's
resolution recommending approval of the 2008 Comprehensive Plan update; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the entire 2008 Comprehensive Plan
update, including changes and additions presented by City staff at the April 27, 2009 City
Council meeting.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Mounds View City Council approves the
2008 Comprehensive Plan update, including the changes and additions included in the April
27, 2009 staff report.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Mounds View City Council
authorizes City staff to submit the April 27, 2009 version of the 2008 Comprehensive Plan
update to the Metropolitan Council for their review of the proposed Plan.
