CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
APPROVING THE ARTICLES OF INCORPORATION AND BY-LAWS AUTHORIZING
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AND MOUNDS VIEW'S PARTICIPATION IN A NEW
REGIONAL CONVENTION AND VISITOR'S BUREAU
WHEREAS, on April 13, 2009, the Mounds View City Council exercised the opt
out clause of its contract with local Convention and Visitor's Bureau (CVB), Visit
Minneapolis North, effective December 31, 2009, and;
WHEREAS, on August 3, 2009, the City Council reviewed and discussed the
draft Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws for a new CVB that would represent Mounds
View, Fridley, Blaine, Coon Rapids, Anoka, Shoreview and Ham Lake, and;
WHEREAS, upon each city's approval of the draft Articles of Incorporation and
By-Laws, the new CVB will be established and each City Council will appoint the first
Board of Directors, and;
WHEREAS, beginning in January 2010, the Board of Directors of the new CVB
will finalize the By-Laws of the organization and will make decisions about how the new
CVB will operate, and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
does hereby approve the draft Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws authorizing the
establishment of and Mounds View's participation in a new regional Convention and
Visitor's Bureau.
