CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
RAMSEY COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AUTHORIZATION TO CONTRACT WITH THE CITY OF BLAINE
FOR BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES
WHEREAS, providing high quality and timely plan review and building
inspections services is a priority for the City; and,
WHEREAS, due to the unexpected resignation of the temporary part time
building inspector there is a need for assistance with building inspections in Mounds View;
and,
WHEREAS, the Mounds View city staff contacted several other cities and
explored several options for providing inspection services in the Mounds View; and,
WHEREAS, the City received responses from inspection consultants and
from the City of New Brighton and the City of Blaine to do building inspections; and,
WHEREAS, the Mounds View city staff has experience working with the City
of Blaine inspections staff and have found them to be professional and efficient; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Blaine will charge the City of Mounds View $45.76 an
hour p{us mileage to do building inspections; and,
WHEREAS, the City will pay for these inspection services from the existing
2009 Community Development budget without an amendment to the budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council does hereby
authorize contracting for building inspection services with the City of Blaine for an hourly
rate of $45,76 per hour plus mileage not to exceed 18 hours per week through December
18, 2009.
