CITY OF MOUNDS VIEW
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION TO EXPEND FUNDS AWARDED IN THE 2009 JUSTICE
ASSISTANCE RECOVERY GRANT
WHEREAS, the city of Mounds View Police Department was awarded funding
from the US Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance funding under the
Recovery Act Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount
of $21,299.00 for the purchase of in squad video cameras and installation of a third
camera for the city camera security system, and;
WHEREAS, the funding is now available as a reimbursement to the City after the
purchases have been made and paid by the City, and;
WHEREAS, the provisions of the grant allow for the purchase and installation of
two in squad video cameras, as detailed in a quote from Tactical Solutions Inc. and a
third city watch camera to be installed near Pine Wood Elementary School, by PCS
Technologies and;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council
does authorize expenditure of the grant funding up to the authorized amount of
$21,299.00 for the purchase and installation of two in squad video cameras from
Tactical Solutions Inc. at a price of $8,400 plus installation (approx $900), and for the
installation of a third camera for the city watch camera system by PCS Technologies
Inc. for the amount of $9968.42. The budget is amended to reflect the above revenue
and expenditure in the Police Grant Fund.
Adopted this 12th day of October 2009.

PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the manufacturing industry is a dynamic part of Minnesota's
economy, and promotion of this sector's strength, success and high quality of life
is an integral part of Minnesota's economic development strategy; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing provides high skill, high wage jobs which
significantly contribute to Minnesota's high standard of living and economic
vitality; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing has the largest total payroll of any business
sector in Minnesota, providing 17.8 billion in 2008 wages; and
WHEREAS, manufacturing produces $33.6 billion for the state economy
and is the largest share, 17 percent of our gross domestic product; and
WHEREAS, manufactured exports brought over $17.3 billion into the
Minresota economy in 2008.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Joe Flaherty, Mayor of Mounds View, do hereby
proclaim that, the week of October 26 -October 30, 2009 shall be observed as:
"MINNESOTA MANUFACTURERS WEEK"
