RESOLUTION APPROVING SEVERANCE FOR
POLICE CHIEF MIKE SOMMER
WHEREAS, Police Chief Mike Sommer has retired from the Mounds View Police
Department effective October 30, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the balance of Police Chief Sommer's accrued and unused sick leave time
is 480.0 hours; and
WHEREAS, the balance of Police Chief Sommer's accrued and unused vacation is
53.09; and
WHEREAS, Police Chief Sommer's current rate of pay is $44.76 per hour; and
WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of sick time will be 480.0 hours x 50% x
$44.76 = $10,742.40; and
WHEREAS, the maximum potential payout of vacation time will be 53.09 x $44.76 =
$2,376.30; and
WHEREAS, $13,118.70 will be contributed to Police Chief Sommer's Retirement Health
Savings Plan.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mounds View City Council approves a
one-time payout of sick and vacation time not to exceed $13,118.70 into Police Chief Mike
Sommer's Retirement Health Saving Plan.
Adopted this 9th day of November, 2009.
