RESOLUTION APPROVING AONE-TIME WAIVER OF THE CITY'S VACATION
CARRY-OVER POLICY TO PERMIT INTERIM POLICE CHIEF TOM KINNEY
TO CARRY AN ADDITIONAL 21.88 HOURS OF VACATION HOURS
OVER AT YEAR END, 2009
WHEREAS, the City Council approved Resolution 7516 on October 26, 2009 which
appointed Deputy Police Chief Tom Kinney as the Interim Police Chief; and,
WHEREAS, as a result of these additional duties and responsibilities, Interim Chief
Kinney was unable to bring his vacation balance into compliance with the City's maximum
carry-over policy at year end, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, in recognition of these additional duties, a waiver from the explicit terms
of the carry over policy, as articulated in Section 3.40 of the City's Personnel Manual,
would be warranted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Mounds View City Council
consents to a one-time waiver from the maximum vacation carry-over provisions for the
year ending 2009 for Interim Police Chief Tom Kinney to allow an additional 21.88 hours of
vacation be carried over into 2010.
Adopted this 25th day of January 2010.
